Guitar Links
The following links represent the best guitar-related sites I have found on the web. This list will be constantly growing. If you know of any sites you would like added to the list, please contact me.
- Chord House
- Chord House has a tool similar to my Chord and Scale Finders and my Chart Makers, only theirs is much more advanced. It's a Java applet that lets you control whether to use a left-handed or right-handed fretboard. You can use alternate tunings (even make up your own!). Has all the scales and chords you'll ever need and allows you to see different orientations of the fretboard. They also offer an Easy Guitar Room and a Piano Room.
- GuitarsRule.com
- Formerly known as Gitarre Spielen, this site has a lot of info for guitarists. One of the best spots for searching out free internet tabs, plus lessons, articles and a few guitar-related games.
- Harmony Central
- This site has plenty of guitar resources, from lessons to software reviews, and tabs to downloads. You'll find enough here to keep you busy for a long, long time.
- Guitarists.net
- Guitarists Network is a great place to search out free internet tabs. It's usually my first stop when I'm looking to learn a song.
- Guitar Notes
- A huge collection of free internet tabs, plus equipment reviews.
- Fresh tabs.com
- A collection of the newest tabs on the net. If you want to learn something that's in your favorite radio station's current rotation, this is a great place to start looking.
- Guitar Effects Schematics
- Schematics for a lot of brand-name guitar effects. Good for those of your that need to work on your stuff.
- The Sheet Music Archive
- Downloadable sheet music for compositions in the public domain. An excellent resource. Unfortunately, they don't seem to have any tablatures.
- Musica Viva Classical Guitar Archive
- They have plenty of classical guitar sheet music, but not in tablature form. If you can read standard music notation, this place is like a gold mine.
- Guide to Writing Internet TABs
- Howard Wright's definitive guide to reading and writing internet-style tablatures. The answers to all your questions about TABs are probably here.
- Instab (freeware ASCII tab maker)
- Instab greatly simplifies the making of internet-style tablatures. No more messing around with those nasty dashes. Easy to use, and the price is right.
